Marketing Tip #1: Email Signatures
Written by Adam in Marketing Tips
Do you email?
What a peculiar question, this day in age. Of course, most people who use a computer have at least one email address. So, the use of an email signature becomes important. Especially if you have a business, the use of an email signature is an invaluable idea. What is an email signature? An email signature is a piece of information usually placed at the end of the body of an email message. The email signature contains contact information, a company name, logo, and optionally a favorite quote.
Just think…if you send out 20 emails a day with your email signature, you have marketed yourself and/or your business 20 times. Including the right information in your email signature can help drive traffic to your website, possibly generating more sales.
In designing an email signature, keep it simple. People just need the basics to contact you. If one form of contact is not available, make sure there are other ways of contacting you. Use a phone number, email address, web address, physical address, Skype, etc. Remember, when including a web address attach the “http://” before the address. Some email programs do not automatically generate a web link.
If you don’t have an email signature for your business (and I have seen many who do not), please consider this element thoughtfully. If you want to bring more attention to the signature, add color or your logo. Or, better yet, you can always have a professional design one for you. After all, this is my trade.
Now, go and market yourself!
