Marketing Tip #2: Walking Billboards Wanted!

Written by Adam in Marketing Tips

Yes, my marketing tips are serious, but this one is a bit amusing. New Zealand’s national airline is offering to pay bald travelers to use the back of their heads for advertising.

Air New Zealand wants 70 “recruits” to stand in lines in airports. These bald “recruits” would have a temporary tattoo placed on the back of their heads, advertising the airline’s new, more efficient check-in system. This way, people in line behind them can see the advertisement.

Want to sign up? The airport will pay each of these individuals $660, and the tattoo will wash off in about 2 weeks.

I am not condoning this form of advertisement, but just pointing out that neither design nor marketing should be limited to the proverbial box. Both design and marketing should work together to communicate to its viewer.
